Robin Hood, Father to a murdered son, husband to a .. etc

I foolishly agreed to go and see Robin Hood with my friend - I knew I wouldnt enjoy it but I like to be a martyr every now and then and I was also a little bit curiously. In a nutshell, its a poor mans Gladiator. The story is standard, I won't go into that - but the performances were questionable and it played host to some of the most horrifically cheesey moments you could imagine. Something I, for one, can't stomach. Russel Crowe is too old and not attractive anymore - his accent was unimaginably shit (worse than Dick Van Dykes bronx cockney in Mary P), Cate Banchlett is also too old and not quite hot enough, in my opinion. Some good moments in it though, and great fight scenes. And in Russel Crowes defense, at least he attempted an accent -Kevin Costner was just an america. Which Robin Hood was not.

Theme song (slightly redone)My favourite Robin Hood of all time is the cartoon!

which was absolutely amazing, had an amazing theme song and I had a massive crush on the fox.

NEXT PRIORITY -- FOUR LIONS

Sunshine Cleaning

So, just before I start to watch Old Boy for the first time, I thought I would quickly write up about quite a sweet film, if not totally overly sentimental one, I just watched called Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0862846/

"In order to raise the tuition to send her young son to private school, a mom starts an unusual business -- a biohazard removal/crime scene clean-up service -- with her unreliable sister."

http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi729612313/ -- THE TRAILER

It sounds a bit crap, and actually, I can see why lots wouldnt like it - but there is something so very likeable about both of the female leads above  (particularly Emily Blunt who I love in The Devil Wears Prada). And also Alan Arkin was in it - whom again i also love (particularly in Little Miss Sunshine). Amy Adams is OK, I guess...Its a very watchable film, a little depressing at times, but always touching. Particularly the relationship Amy Adams character (the former cheerleader captain now cleaning lady with a 'bastard' kid) makes with a guy with one hand. And also Emily Blunts character trying to get over the death of their mother. I did feel all warm and fuzzy inside at the end.

Definitely worth a watch if it comes on TV!!!

Respectful Yo Momma Jokes

Just a little something I rather enjoyed...
