The Town

Last night I went to see The Town at Leicester Square Vue. It has been pretty hyped up so I was expecting great things, and thankfully, I wasnt disappointed.

Directed by and starring Ben Affleck - he plays a longtime thief who, as he plans his next big job, tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down.Other familiar names were Jon Hamm (Mad men), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl) - so in all, a really strong cast, really well acted!!

Exciting, gripping, funny in parts, sad in parts, its a really good watch. My only criticism would be that it is very cheesey at times. But not enough to put you off completely.

Affleck has previously got a lot of stick (particularly from the Stone and Parker!) but he's an amazing Director, I think. If you've not seen  Gone Baby Gone, also directed by Affleck  (and obviously Good Will Hunting which he wrote with matt Damon) then you definitely should. Gone Baby Gone is a pretty heavy and upsetting film but was very topical around its release due to Madeline MacCann - so much so, they delayed its release.

Anyway, next up is BURIED!
